all summer long, i have been dreaming of visiting the beautiful north carolina island of ocracoke. i first heard of this place as a college student from a very arty couple whose dogs i cared for when they went out of town. their house was filled with wonderful posters and beautiful photographs of the island. later, i read that one of my favorite children's book authors, dare wright, spent her summers there and even staged some of her stories there! i absolutely must go! i even found a sweet little cottage on vrbo that is calling my name... perhaps this spring?
